Beckham Scores First Galaxy Goal

David Beckham showed why he has the best free kick in the world tonight against DC United in the Galaxy's Superliga semifinal game. Beckham scored his first goal as a member of the LA Galaxy on a 26 yard free kick.

This guy is a beast. He made the goalie look plain stupid on his goal seen here. Beckham also had an assist to Landon Donovan who scored on a breakaway in the 47th minute. Not a bad start for David Beckham thus far in the MLS. Hopefully he can play up to his full potential soon as he recovers from the ankle injury.

I wouldn't say best free kick at all. I would say one of the best at set pieces in general even though his power is declining. There is a huge difference.

"." Do you mean this particular goal wasn't the best free kick? I didn't mean that at all. This one was average at best compared to his other goals. I was talking about how Beckham has one of the best free kicks in the world. Besides Roberto Carlos of Brazil, who else is in Beckham's league on set pieces/free kicks? Maybe Ronaldinho and that's about it.

By the way, the best free kick goal ever was the one by Roberto Carlos against France where he bends it around the wall with a sick curve, seen here...
