Countdown to Kickoff: 25 Days

As we continue on our daily countdown towards the 2007 season, we are now 25 days away from welcoming the Idaho Vandals to the Coliseum - home of nation's longest current home winning streak (32 games). Let's use this time to honor former Trojan tailback Justin Fargas...
Fargas transferred to USC in 2001 after spending three years at Michigan. He only played one year for the Trojans, but he made it a memorable one. Fargas was a key member of that 2002 team that was instrumental in putting USC back amongst college football's elite. In 2002 (Pete Carroll's 2nd season), the Trojans finished with a record of 11-2 and made it to their first-ever BCS game, where they pummeled Iowa 38-17. The Trojans have been in a BCS bowl every year since. Fargas impressed the pro scouts enough to be selected in the 3rd Round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He is now entering his 5th season with the Silver and Black, where is joined by several fellow Trojans, including the new head coach Lane Kiffin.

We were a little bit side-tracked by the start of fall camp and are still working on Day 26 of our countdown, but it will be posted a little bit later. Sorry fellas...

Fight On!
