Thank God for Idaho

The injury bug beast has attacked the Trojan depth chart the last two weeks. Luckily for us we start the season with a scrimmage against Idaho. Here's an injury update and an official depth chart for Saturday's game...

- After suffering a shoulder stinger, courtesy of Rey Maualuga, Patrick Turner says he is fine and is expected to start on Saturday.

- Center Matt Spanos' tricep injury will hold him out longer than what was originally expected. Carroll initially announced that Jeff Byers would start in place of Spanos. However a recent change of heart now has true freshman Kris O'dowd starting at center.

- Broderick Green suffered a stress fracture in his foot and is expected to sit out this season.

- Nick Howell is also expected to miss a considerable amount of time after discovering that his suspected groin injury was actually a hernia.

- Vidal Hazelton says his nagging groin injury is feeling much better.'

- Joe McKnight (knee) has been cleared for contact and is expected to play on Saturday.

- Marc Tyler (leg) participated in practice for the first time since we was cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse. However, I seriously doubt he will play against Idaho.

- Chauncey Washington will sit out the season opener as he recovers from a shoulder injury he suffered in the final scrimmage of fall camp. Hopefully Washington will be healthy and ready to go for the Nebraska game.

Kevin Thomas, Travon Patterson, and Hershel Dennis were also recovering from injuries. However I'm not sure whether or not they will play on Saturday.
