Update: Chauncey Washington

The LA Times is reporting today that Chauncey Washington, who was slated to start at RB this season, will miss the season opener against Idaho:
USC tailback Chauncey Washington will miss the season opener against Idaho because of a sprained shoulder.

Washington, the Trojans' leading rusher last season, said today he would possibly be out two weeks after X-rays confirmed the sprain that was suffered during a scrimmage Wednesday night.

Though this is terrible news for Chauncey, it provides a wonderful opportunity for someone (Stafon Johnson) to breakout in the Idaho game. Let it be known though, that this slew of injuries at RB continues to be a concern. For the moment, sophomores Stafon Johnson and Allen Bradford, along with senior Desmond Reed are the only available running backs. The article later says:
The Trojans are hoping that sophomore C.J. Gable (groin) and freshman Joe McKnight (knee) will be available in the coming days. Freshman Broderick Green's status was in doubt Wednesday night because of NCAA Clearinghouse issues.
Looks like USC will use a lot of multiple WR formations on September 1st, if the injuries continue to be a problem. All that means is more touches for Ausberry.

Fight On!
