As we continue on our daily countdown towards the 2007 season, we are now 22 days away from kicking things off against the Idaho Vandals. Wearing jersey #22 for the Trojans this season is senior all-purpose running back Desmond Reed...
Reed is one of the more versatile players on the team, but due to the freak injury he suffered in '05 at Notre Dame, he has been unable to establish himself as an elite player. He will likely get lost in the shuffle this season, not only at RB, but also as a return man. The very talented freshmen Joe McKnight and Ronald Johnson are expected to get every opportunity to win the kickoff and punt return duties, and it seems that at least one (if not both) will emerge as a game-breaking return man. I'm sure Carroll will find a place for him somewhere on the field, but Reed will always be left wondering "What if Notre Dame had cut their grass to a normal playing level?"
Fight On!

Pretty sad, but he'll get squeezed as well. He was always an awesome kick returner, but he lost a step or two after his injury.
I don't know how he'll see the field at tailback, and with Rojo and McKnight returning kicks. See ya Reed. Fight on at the NFL draft combine .
