Mayo Jumps Love

The college basketball season is still 5 months away and OJ Mayo is already jumping over UC Los Angeles' K-Love. Rivals just recently released their newest and final rankings for the 2007 class in which Mayo jumped K-Love to take the number 4 spot. This is something that Love and UC Los Angeles fans can look forward to at least twice this coming season. I cant wait for all the fans booing in Pauley Pavilion to be silenced when OJ throws down a monstrous dunk over K-Love or anyone of UC Los Angeles' soft players.

I know rankings don't mean anything but they're fun to discuss and they keep college sports fans entertained during the summer. On that note, Scout.com still ranks OJ Mayo as the #1 player in the 2007 class.

FIGHT ON!

Ask Pete Carroll is recruiting rankings don't anything? I'm sure all those #1 ranked recruiting classes had a little something to do with his 59-6 (47-4 vs. Pac-10) overall record over the past 5 years.

rankings mean even less to PC. because he's taking all the top players... #1, #2, #3 (see Joe McKnight, Chris Galippo, and Marc Tyler)

God that was some horrible grammar. I apologize for trying to blog on the job...someone tried to check out like 48 books while I was working on that comment.

My comment should have read...Ask Pete "if recruiting rankings mean anything?"...

Rankings mean very much because guys like Mayo know they are good and are expected to win. So if anything, they need high rankings, along with high expectations, because a powerhouse school like USC demands high rankings and high expectations. Get used to it OJ, and Love can get used to getting teabagged and throwing GREAT outlet passes.
