Percy Miller Highlights

A lot of people were skeptical of Romeo Miller's game when he accepted an offer to play basketball at USC, myself included. I had my doubts about whether or not he would be able to compete at the collegiate level. Rivals.com rates Romeo as a 2 star prospect and Scout.com has him listed as a 1 star prospect.

Regardless of ranking, I never once doubted the benefits of having a multi-millionaire rapper/actor on our basketball team. The benefits are obvious. "Welcome to USC Renardo. I'd like you to meet your host, Romeo Miller." Enough said.

Recently I realized I was doubting a player that I had never seen play. I never read a scouting report or seen a highlight reel. (The fact that I couldn't find a scouting report or a highlight reel only added to my skepticism). Today however I ran across this highlight video from USCHoops.com of Romeo at USC's Elite Camp, providing me with my first look at the young star.

First impression? Very impressed with his defense, passing, and playmaking ability. I'm looking forward to seeing his game improve over the next year.

Keep up the good work Tourney Tim!

Fight On!

What the hell is wrong with you? Elite Camp??? This video is from some sort of fundamentals camp where anyone can attend for the right price. Your telling me that there isn't a better point running the playgrounds some where in LA the Trojans could have brought in? This is ridiculous. Just look at the little fat kid trailer who Romeo passes the ball to in one of the last clips. By the way I just looked at the roster and he is no where to be found. It was obviously just a publicity stunt. Nice try.

Don't fight on.

People not to stop hating for real on Romeo. First yall talk about his rappin then yall talk about him in bball. Dam i know ur jealous its ok i understand lol but any way. I have been a fan of romeo since i was like 9 and im not about to be 18,and I know he loved rapping but u could always tell basketball was his passion he said it himself. And its not like he was like these other celebrities who become one thing than join something else cuz they think they have skills. He has played basketball longer than he has been rapping. And I have seen him play my self because I played AAU myself and we had a tournament in Las Vegas one year and I watch him the boy is a beast. So dnt say shit if u cant back it up. And o ya to mitch umm sweety when since has it mattered who u played with to determine if you good or not. This past year Kobe Byrant carried the Lakers by him self so ya and i just left the site and there his name was Percy Romeo Miller. And dnt get me wrong im pretty sure there alot of good ppl out there probably better than Romeo. But this is life sweety not everyone is lucky or not puting them self out there u have to be really good and willing to put ur self out there.
LOL I KNOW I HAD ALOT TO SAY I JUST DNT LIKE WHEN PPL TALK ABOUT MY BOO I CAN TALK FOR DAYS WHEN IT COMES TO ROMEO.

well mitch take another look at the roster..PERCY MILLER is on there big as day..maybe you were looking at the 2007-2008 roster,,but he definitely on the team..He is just a freshman guys, with the skills he has he will be something to look for.. I'll give him his soph-junior year..he'll be a phenomenal guard..
MAYBE IT'S A GOOD THING MITCH IS NOT A TALENT SCOUT..LEAVE IT TO THE PROS MITCH.

That didn't look like an elite camp, more like a concentration camp for disabled mentally challenged war veterans. If that was an elite camp then kudos to Percy because he was making them look like they were born with an extra dumb gene. My scores one thru five.

Passing- 5 (great vision)
Shot selection- 4 (a little showy)
Handles- 3 (He wasn't killing me with his crossover)
Speed- 3 (Average)
Defense- 4.5 (great defensive instincts)
Overall - 3.875 (Solid)

My resume. Honorable mention MacDonalds 86,2 Jr. college national championships,2 yr starter NC State (91),7yrs overseas with Benetton Treviso, 3cba Oklahoma City Calvery.I've been a grad asst, asst coach, AAU coach, USBL dir of basketball Oklahoma Storm, and scout in college and at the professional. With that said, Tim Floyd should be ashamed of himself for taking Percy Miller Jr. to get DaRozan. Scholarships are very hard to come by, and to award one to basically a scrub is disrespectful to the game of basketball. From his dad making up a fake magazine article in a fake magazine to promote his sons fake skills, fake ranking, and terrible game is a joke. I grew up participating in the Nike 5 star camp, adidias abcd, and daper dan camps and games. I know how hard it is. And know a fugazie (fake) ball player when I see one. Your game speaks for itself. His dad was a joke trying out for NBA teams and got mad when KG, Vince Carter, etc clowned him. If you want to know whether or not he can play, watch what happens if DeRozan leaves early, if Miller gets any run in four years, it will be around 2/3 min a game. Which is give a guy a blow run. As a former collegiate and professional basketball player, and lover of the game. I am ashamed.
