Kyle Moore, a 6'6" 275 lb defensive end from Kathleen, GA, had to swallow some pride last season as USC's defense switched to a 3-4 scheme. The extra LB (Brian Cushing) replaced the weak-side DE from the traditional 4-3 defense, where Moore would have played and seen lots of minutes on the field. Pete Carroll was just playing to the strenghts of his team, which unfortunately for Kyle, was at LB. Now Moore will have to compete with highly touted incoming freshman Everson Griffen, a favorite of USC ports Talk's very own PCbestever. Regardless of how good Griffen can be, I expect big things from Moore this upcoming season. He had a great spring, and will look to build on that heading into fall camp.
