Countdown to Kickoff: 69 Days

As we continue on our daily countdown towards the 2007 season, we are now at 69. Sorry for getting a little bit behind, but we're back and rolling. We present to you senior offensive tackle Matt Spanos, who will be donning jersey #69 this season for the Trojans.

Spanos measures in at 6'5" 295 lbs and is currently listed as the starting center, when Coach Carroll unveiled his post-spring depth chart. As you might remember, he missed the 2006 football season due to academic issues. He had a great spring, and won the starting center spot, provided that he straighten things out in the classroom. According to Carroll on Scott Wolf's blog, Spanos did "great" in the spring semester and will be eligible for the Trojans this fall. I am really excited about our offensive line. With Spanos and Jeff Byers back at guard, and Hershel Dennis being granted a sixth year of eligibility, the Trojans are welcoming back a trio of players with all-world talent and experience. God I can't wait for September 1st...

Fight On!
