USC Beats Notre Dame 34-27

The USC Trojans beat the irish 34-27 in a game that was a little too close for comfort. The lessons we learned:

USC owns Notre Dame.
Charlie Weis is still fat.
Jimmy Clausen is still a piece of shit.

Fire Steve Sarkisian

I hate Steve Sarkisian. Everyone here at USC Sports Talk has hated this man for 2 years, maybe even longer. This piece of shit is responsible for USC's underachievement the last couple of years. We have the players, the talent, the reputation and aura to instill fear in every opponent, yet USC consistently falters against inferior teams. Blame Sarkisian. Blame Carroll too for not firing this guy a long time ago. A chimp pointing at a play sheet would draw up a better game plan than this guy.

Douche-face.

Week 7 Recap

A glorious Saturday brought us a USC win (albeit a sloppy, sloppy game), an Oklahoma loss at the hands of Colt McCoy and the Longhorns, the destruction of the LSU and Leslie Miles in the Swamp, a Notre Dame loss and a UCLA loss. What more can you ask for when 4 of my most hated teams lose and my own team wins by 28 points despite an awful offensive performance? The highly ranked teams were decimated once again and the new polls reflect the chaos of college football.

Choke-lahoma

Fuck you, LSU

We get a dismal Washington St. team next weekend up in Pullman. Here's hoping we can cover the massive spread and handle our business as we continue to climb back up the rankings.

USC Embarrassed in Corvallis Again

In a stunning upset, Oregon St. topped USC 27-21 tonight behind an amazing effort by RB Jacquizz Rodgers. The freshman ran for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns. Our All-World defense allowed a 5'6" 180 lb. FRESHMAN piece of shit to run all over the place. This game was a complete disaster with Rey Maualuga leaving the field late in the 2nd half with a leg injury. The loss leaves USC on the outside looking in as the rest of the country fights to get into the national championship game.

A lot of things can still happen this season, but the loss seems Stanford-esque considering how badly Oregon St. looked in losses to Stanford and Penn St. I guess USC can still look to get into the Rose Bowl... but fuck the Rose Bowl.

We lost to this guy...

USC 35 - Ohio St. 3

USC destroyed Ohio St. in the alleged "Game of the Year" this past Saturday, 35-3. In what was supposed to be a hard fought, close game, Ohio St. simply bent over and let USC have their way with them. Mark Sanchez threw 4 TD passes and cemented his place in the Heisman race.

We all knew Ohio St. sucked ass, but I guess we didn't realize the extent of the damage. "Star" RB Chris Beanie Wells sat out the game and ends his Heisman campaign in street clothes. For all of the Ohio St. fans trying to rationalize their miserable lives, face the facts: Beanie Wells would not have made a difference. USC dominated Ohio St. in every aspect of the game and unless Beanie can play at all 11 positions on the defensive side of the ball, his so called talents wouldn't have mattered in lessening the beat down this past weekend.

Pussy.

Star LB Rey Maualuga showed why he is the best linebacker in the nation with a great game that included his first career touchdown with a 48 yard interception return. Big Rey outplayed, out-hustled, and out-classed that piece of shit James Laurinaitis the entire game.

Fuck Laurinaitis.

In other great news, fucla still fucking sucks...

All in all, a great weekend for the Trojans. Next stop: at Oregon St. on Sept. 25.

USC 46 fUCLA 56

There's only one picture to sum up last night's game:

A teabag?

The Galen Center was electric last night as the crosstown rivalry was renewed for another game between our schools. USC came out with black jerseys, which looked pretty tight. Unfortunately for us, USC was on the losing end. OJ Mayo was held to only 4 points and committed 10 turnovers. It was a shame because the rest of the team was fighting and clawing their way all over the court, but Mayo just didn't show up tonight. Taj Gibson had a big game with 16 points, 12 rebounds and an effort that we hadn't seen all season. Jefferson was in early foul trouble that didn't allow him to get into any rhythm. I understand that we can't expect Mayo to shoot lights out every game, but even superstars have bad shooting nights. All of us at USC Sports Talk were critical of Mayo because it looked like he just wasn't trying out there. Case in point, we present you Exhibit A:

A great effort on defense.

If his shot wasn't on tonight, the least he could do was play ferocious defense or make smarter passes. There were at least 200 errant passes by Mayo last night.

Another thing I blame for this loss is the lack of intensity by the scumbag students who were sitting over the UCLA tunnel. We got there kind of late, so we didn't get the tunnel seats that we had been longing for all season. Part of the home court advantage is having those handful of students who make the night miserable for opposing coaches and players by yelling every obscenity they can think of. The assholes around the tunnel were in their seats the whole fucking game. The fUCLA players weren't assaulted with a barrage of insults when they were walking in or out of the tunnel. We needed people who would remind Love that the Beach Boys suck and that he's fat. We needed people who would berate Shipp for being a piece of shit. The scumbags around the tunnel failed in that mission. It was also bullshit how the students right above the tunnel were none other than Kevin Ellison, Kevin Thomas, Cary Harris and Marc Tyler, all of them part of our football team. If anything, the rivalry should mean a lot more to them as players, but instead they were fucking sitting down the whole fucking game.

Our shitty seats didn't stop us from going down to the tunnel when the game was over. We were able to get front and center over the tunnel to yell all of that hate down onto the fUCLA players. We know they all heard us because of the smiles and acknowledgments we got from Mbah a Moute, Keefe, Westbrook, Collision and Shipp. I also have a new most hated player: Michael Roll. I was too busy calling Shipp a fucking cunt, when Roll straight up stopped and yelled something at us. I really wish I knew what that piece of shit had said, but I didn't catch it. If he's reading this, please comment on the post.

Fuck you, Michael Roll.

It was a tough loss, but our players need to bounce back and regroup in the remaining Pac-10 games if they want to have any chance of making the NCAA tournament in March. Fuck Michael Roll.

USC vs. UCLA

The USC basketball team takes on the fucla tomorrow night at the Galen Center. It should be a hard fought game, especially with USC winning the first meeting this season at Pauley. I'm sure both teams will get up for this game. USC will be without sophomore guard Daniel Hackett who is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his lower back. Hopefully the Trojans can man up and play a well-rounded game. Davon Jefferson will need another monster game and OJ Mayo will have to be smart with his shot selection if the Trojans hope to come out victorious. We all expect a noisy crowd and I'm sure there will be a lot of venomous remarks aimed at the bRuin bench tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if there are several fan ejections, maybe even arrests at the game. It should be a hell of a night. Here are a few choice images to get everyone in the right mood.

Rose Bowl Champions

USC 49 Illinois 17

USC dominated the Granddaddy of 'Em All and wrecked an outmatched Illinois team. We finally got to see the team that we had all hoped USC could become back in August. The game was never in question and it was basically over when the plane that the Fightin' Illini were traveling in touched down at LAX. John David Booty capped his career at USC with 255 yards passing and 3 TD's in his final appearance with the Trojans. Hell, even our neighbor Garrett Green threw a touchdown pass to Desmond Reed. I had forgotten USC had that kind of trickeration in the playbook after sitting through a boring season of 5 yard slants and hitch passes. On the defensive side of the ball, Rey Maualuga proved his beastliness with an interception and 3 sacks in the first half. Even our shitty cornerbacks made plays with Terrell Thomas stripping the ball in the red zone and Cary Harris intercepting Juice Williams.

The entire team was making plays and USC made their case for being the best team in the country. Sure, we were playing against the Big Ten's 3rd place team and Illinois maybe didn't deserve the Rose Bowl bid, but the way USC has played lately, there's no question the Trojans are playing the best football right now. You can put Ohio St, Oklahoma or even those cunts from LSU on the other side of the ball and USC will still hit them in the mouth and win. There is no playoff system in college football though, so we have to end the season with this Rose Bowl victory, but I'm glad USC took care of business.

Probably the best moment of the game came when RB Hershel Dennis scored his last touchdown for the Trojans. Dennis, a 6th year senior who battled knee problems and an ever-growing line of 5 star running backs never gave up and ended his Trojan career on a good note. I know I wasn't the only USC Sports Talk contributor who had a tear in the eye when Hersh scored. If he had scored on the last play of the game, I might have erupted in tears in joy.

USC ends this season on a high, although we all would have liked for another crystal ball to be heading to Heritage Hall. Nevertheless, USC finishes the Rose Bowl Champ, the Pac-10 Champ and gives Carroll a 5-1 record in BCS Bowls. We bid farewell to some key seniors, but with the top recruiting classes the last couple of years, USC should still be a dominant force for years to come. This season is at an end, but I'm sure we'll have plenty more to say about the season, the early entrants to the NFL draft and whatever random shit pops up. I leave you with some more images of today's game and a slighty modified quote from the movie Troy:

"May the Gods keep the women in our beds, and the wolves in the SEC fans' beds."

Cheers to that.

Jacked Up For the Rose Bowl

The Rose Bowl is only one day away and I'm looking forward to see the match up between Pete Carroll and Ron Zook.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

They are by far, the two best coaches and recruiters in college football. It's going to be a shame to root against Coach Zook since he's a favorite here at USC Sports Talk. ESPN's Mark Schlabach had a good write-up comparing the two coach's journeys. Despite the apparent mismatch on paper between the teams, Illinois should present a challenge to the Trojans given our recent trouble against running quarterbacks. I still wake up in a cold sweat some nights thinking about a certain No. 10 (who will remain nameless) running into the endzone untouched in a Rose Bowl a few years back... (thank you very much, Frostee "Cunt" Rucker for breaking containment). Hopefully this year's speed on defense can neutralize Juice Williams and the rest of the Illini attack.

I hope it's a competitive game tomorrow and that we come out victorious. Even though it's not the arbitrarily arranged national championship game, a win in the Rose Bowl would definitely salvage this disappointing year and start the new year on a good note. Enjoy the game boys and girls and Happy New Year!

Weekend Recap

USC 24 - Cal 17

The USC Trojans fought the rain, the Cal Bears and the rest of the hippies up north en route to a victory this past weekend. Chauncey "The First President" Washington wrecked the Cal defense and finished with a career best 220 yards rushing and 1 TD. The rain made for a sloppy game, but the Trojans were able to hang on to the lead and gave another reason for Jeff Tedford to put a gun to his temple after one of the most disappointing seasons of his career. Me-sean Jackson remained a douche and finished with 61 yards receiving and was a non-factor. The victory gives the Trojans the possibility of going to the Rose Bowl if they can beat ASU on Thanksgiving Day in a few weeks. There's also the bi-annual rape of the Bruins at the Coliseum to look forward to on December 1st.

Illinois 28 Ohio St. 21
The Buckeyes were "Juiced" on Saturday at the Horseshoe by the Fighting Illini. Juice Williams is a favorite here at USC Sports Talk and he gutted Ohio St. with 4 TDs in an impressive performance to take down the No. 1 team in the land. It was nice to see Ron Zook emotional after the victory during the post-game interview. That guy is a class act, a great coach and a decent human being. Kudos to Zook and the rest of the Fighting Illini.

There were a lot of other games this weekend, but no one gives a shit about any of them. Michigan is still a joke, Miami got shutout in their last game at the Orange Bowl and Mark Mangino is still a fat piece of shit.

In other news, OJ Mayo had his regular season debut for the Trojans at home against the mighty Mercer Bears... and we lost. Mayo finished with 32 points but the team looked out of sync and lost at times. I really hope Floyd can set the team right once everyone gets healthy, but we shall see.

I know we've been lagging lately with posts and updates, but we're all students and midterms are shitty. We'll get back into rhythm soon. Until then, "Jagger Bombs!"

USC Ranked No. 10 in the new AP Poll

This is bullshit. How is USC, who has enough 5-star recruits to make other teams drool and one of the best coaches in the country, ranked No. 10 in the AP Poll after losing to Stanford? We should have DROPPED out of the Top 25 completely. I don't think the AP voters realize that we lost to Stanford (At home). With all the talent USC stockpiles, our alleged All-World players, and our great coach, there is no fucking reason we should have lost last night.

This is only the 5th loss by USC since I've been a student here. Cal in 2003 was pretty bad since it was a triple-overtime loss. Texas in the Rose Bowl in 2006 was the worst night of my life. Oregon St. and fUCLA in 2006 were also pretty disappointing, but Stanford in 2007? Are you fucking kidding me? Stanford? At home? WTF!? Who the fuck loses to Stanford?

I sincerely hope Carroll had to be restrained from going after players and coaches in the locker room. This loss shouldn't be taken lightly by the coaching staff. Sarkisian should realize that his play calling sucks dick. It's hard to imagine Lane Kiffin was drawing up better plays. Nick Holt doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. Every time the camera pans across him, he's looking at his play sheet with a look of "What the fuck should I do?"

USC usually bounces back from a loss and gets their shit straight. Players and coaches usually get their heads out of their asses, and realize that they fucked up and need to start playing/coaching better. I just hope that this loss awakens a sleeping giant that can salvage this season. I say salvage because with USC's recent 11+ win seasons, anything short of a National Championship or a BCS Bowl is unacceptable. We still have Oregon and Cal on the schedule and those games will definitely be a gut check. Whatever happens though, I just hope Pete Carroll gets his wish and gets to play in the Rose Bowl this season. That always "jacks" him up...
