Weekend Recap

Week 8 brought us another slew of upsets and random shit going on in college football. I know it's a bit late, but here's the weekend recap:

USC 38 Notre Dame 0
We won a game convincingly for once! Good shit. Mark "The Dirty" Sanchez threw 4 TD passes and staked his claim for the starting spot this week against Oregon. For once, our team didn't suck ass against a lowly opponent and USC handled their business. USC dominated Notre Dame in every aspect of the game and handed "Mom Jeans" Weis and the Irish another loss to their dismal season. It's a shame that Jimmy Clausen didn't get a chance to see what he would have been up against everyday at practice if he had signed with USC. Fuck that guy.

Note: Jimmy Clausen revealed that he is of Italian decent, and therefore a Guido.

LSU 30 Auburn 24
Those cunt muscles from LSU should have lost this weekend, but they managed to squeak out a victory against a tough Auburn team who had them by the balls but let go at the end. Miles and Co. are bound to fall sooner or later and the world will be a better place. Candy will taste sweeter, and the sun will shine brighter when this happens.

Rutgers 30 South Florida 27
You know the 2007 college football season is weird when this game matters.

UCLA 30 Cal 21
Cal decided to bend over and take one from Dorrell and the band of misfits at the Rose Bowl. Apparently UCLA is atop the Pac-10 standings for now. It shouldn't be long before the Ruins remember that they're a joke of a program and start losing. Cal is done.

The weekend also left us with one of the most disgusting images in recent memory:

Kansas coach Mark Mangino gives obesity a new meaning. This guy is fucking disgusting.

Big game this week against the Oregon Ducks at the Autzen Zoo. It should be a tough game for both teams. I just hope USC can stop the spread offense and slow down Dixon and Stewart. More on that throughout the week...

Clausen To Get Thrown To the Wolves on Saturday...

Freshman QB Jimmy Clausen (above), Notre Dame's prized recruit who many Irish fans consider to be the "chosen one" or "second coming," will make his first career start on the road Saturday against Joe Pa's Penn State Nittany Lions. Any team who's ever traveled to Happy Valley knows that Penn State is very tough at home, so it may not be a very glorious debut for Mr. Clausen. This is what awaits Clausen on the other side of the tunnel...

Notre Dame is coming off an embarassing 33-3 home loss to Georgia Tech, but the schedule doesn't get any easier. After Penn State, the Irish have road games at Michigan, Purdue, and UCLA, as well as home games against Michigan State and Boston College before USC hits South Bend on October 20th. It is very possible that Notre Dame will lose their first 8 games. I'm not sure that this is what the Notre Dame faithful thought year 3 of the Weis era would look like, especially after a fairly impressive first year in 2005. During Weis' first two years, we saw a very potent offense in South Bend -- though it needed to be explosive because the Irish couldn't stop anybody defensively -- but now the Irish are equally bad on offense as they are on defense. Time to step up your game Charlie "Mom Jeans" Weis...

I actually feel a little bad for ND, but as many of my colleagues would say, "Fuck Notre Dame!" and "Fuck Jimmy Clausen!" I'll be watching this game closely on Saturday, give 'em hell Joe Pa!

Fight On!

Notre Dame Sucks!!

We know our counterparts from across town aren't having much of a spring, and boy does Karl Dorrell suck, hopefully he can stick around uclgay for a while and keep those 6-6 seasons coming. Before I digress any more, let's check up on our rivals from South Bend. Notre Dame fans got their much anticipated first look at freshman QB Jimmy Clausen on Saturday at their annual spring game. Apparently, Notre Dame focused on their running game throughout spring practices, but maybe they just don't want to show anything to their opponents yet. Due to the heavy emphasis on the run by Coach Weis, none of the 4 QB's battling to replace long time starter Brady Quinn ever really shined. That includes Clausen, who was hailed as Quinn's heir apparent as soon as he committed to the Irish a year ago. Clausen has battled injuries this spring and is not a lock to be Notre Dame's starting QB when they open the season versus Georgia Tech on September 1st. Whether he wins the starting job or not, we can all agree on one thing, the guy is funny looking and will continue to be heckled for the rest of his career. Here's a fun pic of Jimmy "Emu" Clausen courtesy of 82 Sluggo Win (by way of the MZone).
