Wright best corner in Carroll era

I just wanted to link up this post on Scott Wolf's blog regarding cornerback Shareece Wright. Wolf said that an NFL scout stated that "Wright is the best corner USC's had since Will Poole and could easily end up being better."

So now I wanna take the time to send out a big fuck you to "that guy" I heard running his mouth at an SC practice; going on about how sorry Shareece Wright is and that he shouldn't be a starter. But I guess he knows better than an NFL Scout.

Countdown to 2008 Kickoff: 24 Days

Our countdown to the 2008 kickoff brings us to #24, represented by junior CB Shareece Wright. The hard-hitting Wright looks to start this season in the spot vacated by departed senior, Terrell Thomas. Needless to say, Wright should be a HUGE upgrade at cornerback. With hits like these, USC should have a fearsome secondary to punish opponents this coming season.

On another note, I'll use this opportunity to honor another fearsome #24...

Knowshon Moreno: BEAST

We will hopefully meet Mr. Moreno and Co. in Miami on January 8, 2009 for all the marbles. Cheers to that.

Countdown to Kickoff: 24 Days

The excitement builds as the #1 ranked Trojans are only 24 days away from the start of the 2007 season. Representing #24 on our countdown to kickoff is sophomore cornerback Shareece Wright. Wright appeared in all 13 games last season as a true freshmen. Picking up valuable playing time at cornerback and on special teams.

Shareece played well during the spring and with only one cornerback position solidified, he has the opportunity to compete for the starting job opposite Terrell Thomas. With Kevin Thomas still recovering from injury, Wright's primary competition this fall is current starter Cary Harris. Competition will increase when/if Kevin Thomas returns and if the coaching staff decides to move Josh Pinkard back to cornerback. Shareece is a very physical cornerback and we should get a good look at him on Friday when the team suits up for their first day in pads.

I just heard the first horn sound, time to head over to Howard Jones...
