College Football Playoff?

In this 60 Minutes interview clip President elect Barack Obama discusses his desire to see a college football playoff system and states that he'll "throw his weight around" to make it happen.



This got me thinking... An 8-team playoff system would be amazing. Aside from making the Las Vegas Bowl an instant fan favorite, it would also crown a true national champion. How many championships would Pete Carroll have won the last 6 years had there been a college football playoff? 2 0f 6 isn't bad. But who would bet against Coach Carroll in an a playoff system? No one prepares better for bowl games than Pete Carroll.

Until that actually happens we'll have to sit around and watch the BCS... compute a national championship game.
